Before returning your rental device, it's important to back up your data, remove any personal information and disable any account locks.
Failure to do so may delay the return process.
Step 1: Back up your data
Before returning your device, make sure you've backed up any data you want to keep, including:
- Photos and videos
- Contacts
- Messages
- Documents
- App data
You should also transfer any important information to your replacement device before proceeding.
Step 2: Remove your SIM card and memory card
Remove any:
- SIM cards
- MicroSD cards
- Other removable storage media
These items won't be returned if left inside the device.
Step 3: Remove your account from the device
Before returning your device, you must remove any accounts linked to it.
Apple devices
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Scroll down and select Sign Out.
- Enter your Apple ID password if prompted.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the sign-out process.
This will disable Find My iPhone/iPad and remove the device from your Apple account.
Samsung devices
- Open Settings.
- Select Accounts and backup.
- Select Manage accounts.
- Choose your Samsung account.
- Select Remove account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the removal process.
This will remove the Samsung account from the device.
Step 4: Erase your personal data
Once you've backed up your data and removed your account, reset the device to factory settings.
This will remove your personal information from the device before it is returned.
Step 5: Package your device
Pack your device securely before sending it back.
Where possible, use the original packaging and include any accessories you've been instructed to return.
Please ensure all accounts, security locks and activation locks have been removed before returning your device.
Devices returned with active account locks may delay the return process.
