Yes. As part of your application, we'll use a third-party credit reference agency, TransUnion, to carry out a credit check and assess your eligibility for a musicMagpie Rent agreement.
What type of credit check do you perform?
The credit check is a hard search, which means it will leave a footprint on your credit file.
TransUnion assesses your application using:
- Your credit score.
- The information provided during your application.
- Their own credit assessment criteria and algorithms.
Can you tell me if I'll be accepted before I apply?
No. Unfortunately, we're unable to advise whether you'll be accepted before you complete the application process.
What are the eligibility requirements?
To apply for a rental agreement, you must:
- Be a permanent UK resident.
- Be aged between 18 and 99 years old.
- Have an active credit or debit card.
- Have a valid UK telephone number.
- Earn a minimum of £8,500 per year.
What happens if I fail the credit check?
If your application doesn't pass the credit check, we're unable to offer you a rental agreement.
Please note: Following two unsuccessful credit checks, any further rental applications will be automatically declined.
