📲 There are different ways to transfer your data between your devices. This article will include information on how to:
▶ Transfer your data between two Apple devices.

❗ Before transferring your data between your devices, you need to perform a backup of your data.
Transferring data between two Apple devices 📲
👇 If you're transferring data between two Apple devices using Quick Start, follow the steps below:
❗ This can only be done if both devices are using iOS 12.4 or later.
1️⃣ Bring your old and new Apple rental devices close to each other. Make sure Bluetooth on your old rental device is switched on.
2️⃣ Turn your new rental device on.
3️⃣ Your old rental device should show the Quick Start screen to set up your new device. Tap Continue.
4️⃣ An image will appear on your new rental device. Hold your old rental device over the new one to scan the image.
5️⃣ After your devices are connected to each other, wait until the data and settings migrate between them. Keep both devices close to each other whilst this is in progress.
6️⃣ When prompted, enter the passcode from your old rental device on your new rental device. Then enter your Apple ID and password.
7️⃣ Set up Touch ID or Face ID on your new rental device.
8️⃣ Select if you’d like to restore data from the most recent iCloud backup or backup your old device now and then restore the settings after the backup is complete.
9️⃣ To finish, you can change your preferences related to location, Apple Pay, Siri, etc. By default, these settings are the same as on your old rental device. You’ll also be able to adjust them later in the Settings app.
🎉 Once your data has been downloaded onto your new device, you'll be good to go!
👇 If you're transferring data between two Apple devices using an iCloud backup, follow the steps below:
1️⃣ Turn on your new Apple rental device.
2️⃣ A Hello screen will appear. Follow the steps until you reach a Wi-Fi screen.
3️⃣ Tap on Wi-Fi network to join and follow the steps until you reach an Apps & Data screen.
4️⃣ Tap Restore from iCloud Backup and sign in using your Apple ID and password.
5️⃣ Choose a backup to restore your data from.
6️⃣ Stay connected and wait for the backup to complete. Your iCloud data from your previous rental device will be restored on your new rental device. Keep your device connected to Wi-Fi and to a power source whilst the transfer is in progress.
🎉 Once your data has been transferred onto your new device, you'll be good to go!
❗ After completing the data transfer, you will have to set up various things which won't have transferred over such as: pairing Bluetooth devices, adding your cards to Apple Pay, managing any subscriptions, and redownloading your in-app purchases from the App Store.

1️⃣ Connect your new rental device to your computer using a USB cable.
2️⃣ Do one of the following:
👉 If you're using a backup on macOS 10.15 or later, go to Finder > Select [Your new rental iPhone] > Click Trust.
👉 If you're using a back on a Windows PC or laptop, go to iTunes > Click the device icon in the top left-hand side of the iTunes window > Select [your new rental iPhone].
3️⃣ On your rental device's welcome screen, click Restore from this backup.
4️⃣ Choose your backup from the list and then click Continue.
👉 If your backup is encrypted, you must enter the password before restoring your files and settings.
🎉 Once your data has been transferred onto your new device, you'll be good to go!

Transferring data between two Samsung devices 📲

There are 3 ways to transfer your data between two Samsung devices using Smart Switch:
▶ Using Wi-Fi.
▶ Using a USB cable.
▶ Using a Windows PC or a Mac.
❗ Before transferring your data, you'll need to make sure that the Smart Switch software is downloaded and installed on both devices. On newer devices, you will find it at Settings > Cloud and accounts > Smart Switch.

1️⃣ Ensure that Smart Switch is downloaded and installed on both your old and new rental devices.
2️⃣ Connect your devices together by holding your devices close to each other. Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
3️⃣ Open Smart Switch on your new rental device and tap Start.
4️⃣ Follow the on-screen instructions and then choose the data you'd like to transfer from your old rental device to your new one.
5️⃣ Your data will start transferring from your old to your new rental device.
🎉 Once your data has been transferred onto your new device, you'll be good to go!
👇 If you're transferring data between two Samsung devices using Smart Switch via USB-C, follow the steps below:
1️⃣ Ensure that Smart Switch is downloaded and installed on both your old and new rental devices.
2️⃣ Connect your devices together with your USB-C cable.
3️⃣ Select Backup in the Smart Switch app and then tap Allow to be ready to transfer.
4️⃣ Open Smart Switch on your new rental device, tap Start and follow the on-screen instructions.
5️⃣ Select the date you'd like to transfer to begin the process.

👇 If you're transferring data between two Samsung devices using Smart Switch via PC or Mac, follow the steps below:
1️⃣ Ensure that Smart Switch is downloaded and installed onto your PC or Mac.

2️⃣ Open the Smart Switch software on your PC or Mac and then connect your old rental device to your computer. Click Backup in Smart Switch and then Allow on your connected device. Once the backup is complete, click Ok and disconnect your device.
3️⃣ Connect your new rental device to your PC or Mac, then in Smart Switch, select Restore, then click Select a different backup, then click Samsung device data.
4️⃣ Select the data you want to transfer, then click Ok, then Restore Now, then Allow. Your data will begin to transfer to your new rental device.
🎉 Once your data has been transferred onto your new device, you'll be good to go!
👇 If you're transferring data between two Samsung devices without Smart Switch, follow the steps below:
❗ You'll need your previous rental phone to do this, so don't reset it just yet.
1️⃣ Select your device language and hit Start on the welcome page.
2️⃣ Select your home Wi-Fi network and sign in.
3️⃣ Tap Next on the Copy apps & data screen to begin migrating data from your previous rental device.
4️⃣ On the Bring your data from... page, select A backup from an Android phone.
5️⃣ The next page shows instructions on how to restore your data. Tap Next to start the data migration to your new rental device.
6️⃣ Tap Next again. You'll need your previous Samsung rental device at this point to continue transferring data to your new rental device.
👉 You will now need to authorise the data transfer from your previous rental device. Here's what to do with your previous rental device:
1️⃣ Go to Settings from the home screen and go to the Google tab.
2️⃣ Tap Set-up and restore and then tap Set-up nearby device.
3️⃣ On the Getting started page, tap Next.
4️⃣ Your device will start to search for nearby devices. Verify the patterns on both devices to establish a connection between them ready to transfer your data.
5️⃣ Tap Next to confirm the screen lock on your previous device, then tap Copy to begin copying your data to your new rental device.
6️⃣ Once you see a progress bar, switch back to your new rental device.
👉 On your new rental device:
1️⃣ Sign in to your Google Account using your email and password.
2️⃣ Confirm the screen lock on your previous rental phone to authenticate the data transfer.
3️⃣ On the Choose what to restore page, choose what you want to be transferred over, and tap Restore.
4️⃣ Your data will now be transferred to your new rental device.
🕖 Depending on how much data (GB) there is to transfer, it could take up to an hour. Make sure both devices are plugged into a power source whilst the data transfer is in progress. Whilst this is happening, you can configure the settings on your new rental device.

Transferring data from an Apple device to a Samsung device 📲
✅ The easiest way to transfer data from an Apple device to a Samsung device is using Smart Switch.

2️⃣ Tap Wireless, then Retrieve, then iOS.
3️⃣ Sign in to your iCloud account using your Apple ID and password.
4️⃣ Deselect any data you don't want to transfer and tap Import.
5️⃣ Once the transfer is complete, tap Close app. Don't forget to also disable iMessage on your Apple device.
To disable iMessage go to Settings > tap Messages > turn iMessage off. Afterward go back to Settings > tap Facetime > Turn Facetime off > exit Settings.
🎉 Once your data has been transferred onto your new device, you'll be good to go!

❗ Before proceeding with the below steps, ensure that you've turned off two-step verification for your Apple ID (if applicable).

1️⃣ Open iTunes on your PC or Mac and connect your Apple device to your computer using a lightning USB cable.
2️⃣ Once connected, click Continue then Trust.
3️⃣ Select [Your apple device] in iTunes, then go to Summary > Encrypt iPhone Backup > This computer > Back up now.
4️⃣ Once backed up, remove your Apple device by selecting the iTunes eject icon and then disconnecting the lightning USB cable.
5️⃣ Connect your new Samsung device to your PC or Mac and click Restore in the Smart Switch software.
6️⃣ If you have no previous backups, click Restore Now then Select a Different Backup, and select iTunes Backup Data from the top left of the Smart Switch software.
7️⃣ Select the data you want to transfer and click Ok > Restore now > Allow. Your data will begin transferring.

Transferring data from a Samsung device to an Apple device 📲
✅ The best way to transfer your data from a Samsung device to an Apple device is using the Move to iOS app.

❗ Before you begin, make sure that:
▶ You've downloaded Move to iOS on your Samsung device.
▶ Your Samsung device has Wi-Fi turned on.
▶ Your new Apple device and Samsung device are both plugged into a power socket via USB.
▶ The data you're transferring will fit on your new Apple device.
1️⃣ Begin the setup on your new Apple device. Look for the Apps & Data screen then tap Move from Android.
2️⃣ On your Samsung device, open the Move to iOS app. If you haven't downloaded the app, tap the QR code on your Apple device and scan the QR code using your Samsung device's camera to download it from the Google Play store.
3️⃣ Tap Continue, read the Terms and Conditions, and then tap Agree.
4️⃣ On your Apple device tap Continue when you see the Move from Android screen. Wait for a ten-digit or six-digit code to appear.
5️⃣ Enter the code on your Samsung device.
6️⃣ Your Apple device will create a temporary Wi-Fi network. When prompted, tap Connect on your Samsung device to join it. Wait for the Transfer Data screen to appear.
7️⃣ On your Samsung device, select the data you want to transfer and tap Continue. Your data will begin to transfer. Wait until the loading bar on your Apple device finishes. The transfer can take a while depending on how much data you're transferring.
8️⃣ After the loading bar has finished, tap Done on your Samsung device. Tap Continue on your Apple device and follow the on-screen instructions to finish your setup.
